STYLELIKEU.com INTERVIEW and other UPDATES!!!

October 27, 2010

Back in July 2010 I was interviewed by the lovely Elisa Goodkind of StyleLikeU.com and last week it just posted to the site!  StyleLikeU features people young and old with stand-out styles worth noticing around the world, and people that are shaping & influencing the style/fashion world with their individual styles.  I was so honored to be asked and featured on the site, everyone should check them out!!!  I have made several earrings for StyleLikeU over the past few months, they love my work and I love them!!!

Moving on to some other things, Neon Indian recently revamped their website and used several photos that I took of them at Bonnaroo Festival this year, it looks great, check it out here:  www.neonindian.com

Currently Im working on shoots and jewelry pieces for RED DEVIL LOVE and my first collection “the devil in me”.  I just did an interview with KindForm and that should be out soon too!  I’ll write more soon!

Recently, Elisa from StyleLikeU.com asked me to make her four new earrings to send to her in New York, I was pretty siked on it.  She Interviewed me for the site a month ago today back in Texas before I moved back to Los Angeles; I absolutely adore their website!  Honestly, these have to be four of my favorite designs I’ve made so far, here is three of the four, you can also view them HERE.

So Much And So Little time.. Just A Name Livin’ Up To The Game.

July 31, 2010

Wow, so it’s been quite some time since I have last updated.  I guess I don’t really have an excuse except being busy but I’m updating now so sue me, lol.  I find myself on the eve of new frontier in so many ways.  In days I am moving out of Texas, FINALLY!  It’s quite sad though, I never thought in a million years Texas would have had such an impact on me but it did.  I remember moving here 2 years and 3 months ago tomorrow, it was culture shock for me to say the least.  None the less I have ventured very far from the steady, government job wielding self, that I once was to what I am now.  Here I am two years later working for myself as an established professional photographer and gaining more notariety with each passing day, not-to-mention my jewelry line, RED DEVIL LOVE, blowing up faster than a Jr. High boys hormones at the site of his first girls locker room sneak peak, haha. What can I say, I have been very blessed, but it’s not luck, I’ve worked my ass off for it, and only I can control what happens to me in this life, gotta just keep drivin’ and never take less than what my imagination and determination can dish.

I’m going to miss everyone in Texas but I am so ready to leave.  I’ve accomplished what I set out here to do, and it’s only natural to now move on to something bigger, something better, something so unpredictable it hurts my damn head to think about!  Although I’m leaving I’ll definitely be back to Dallas and Texas in general from time to time, in fact I’ll be back in about a month because I am wanting to put my first gallery showing on here at the W Hotel in my friend Jackie’s boutique, V.O.D.  There is always SXSW, FunFunFunFest, and ACL also.

I did my first Restaurant shoot on Thursday and it went off without a hitch!  I loved the photos that came out and one is about to be in an Ad for the restaurant, sFuzzi, on McKinney Ave., in Dallas, TX.  I recommend this place to everyone actually, I had the breadless chicken parm. panini and it had to be one of the best sandwiches I have ever had, SERIOUSLY!

You can see the rest of the shoot here:  http://thefiasco.dphoto.com/#/album/56541g/

Another reason Im really siked to leave Dallas is because Im not really that inspired/motivated by anything here, maybe it’s my fault in some small way but I think it has to do with the place too, I’m out of place here.  Needless to say my brain has about 50 ideas im working on and working out right now, but this isnt the place for them [ Texas ] back home in LA is, and soon you’ll all see what Im talking about.

That’s all I got for now but rest assure I’ll keep this baby updated more in the future from now on ;]

944 DINNER PARTY

May 13, 2010

A few shots from the 944 Dinner Party my Steve and Paul, my editor and the VP of 944, took me to last night.  Naga Thai best Thai food in Dallas I swear it, I had the Green Curry!  There were like 35 of us, I’m pretty sure our bill was over $1500 easy.  I had a mai tai, white russian, then a margarita, all three were bomb.  We were on our way in the elevator of the W Hotel Residencies when the show we were going to at the palladium ended, I cant remember the name of who was playing off the top of my head but they were a rap group from the 90’s. Then we all proceeded to go see Soft Environmental Collapse @ Detour at The Cavern.  All around it was an amazing night by far, so much other stuff happened that I can’t really share with you, all good stuff but ya know, wink wink, haha.  I made so many connects and everyone loved my Jewelry!!!

WELCOME TO RED-DEVIL-LOVE

May 10, 2010

I spent all day working on the RED DEVIL LOVE Store today, but I finally got it the way I want it.  You can order from anywhere in the U.S. ONLY right now for $5.00, but eventually I’ll ship to more people outside the U.S. and the shipping will change.  You can pay by money order or by paypal which is convenient, and my address is listed in the store so that you know where to mail your money orders.  Once money order is received I’ll package and send your piece (or) pieces to you within 3-5 days, I can get pretty busy sometimes.  It comes with a card, care instructions, and a receipt.  If you see me or know me in real life, you can arrange to come by the house and pick out one you like, my inventory is growing rapidly, I’m getting about 10 new pieces a week, and have 20 already done.  Soon I’ll have leather, cuffs, headbands, new earrings and bracelets up in the store, I’m doing the product photography for it and building marketing banners for the store every day.

I’m really excited about getting the store finally up and running, you can actually buy my stuff now instead of just asking for me to make you one.  As I finish them, I will add them to the store so expect new things everyday basically.  Hopefully in the next month I am hoping to get a spot at the gallery RISING in Uptown Dallas to show 25 pieces of my Jewelry line and 25 photos that I have picked from my portfolio that most people have never seen and has never been posted online.  So 50 works of mine in all, half photos, half jewelry for RED DEVIL LOVE.  Included in these pieces will be 3 custom made pieces for HELLOx6.com and will be for sale as will all of the pieces and prints that will be on sale.

Other than that I hope I see everyone and the ISHI CD RELEASE PARTY, you can get a ticket from John Mudd @ The Billiard Bar on lower Greenville Ave. tonight or Wednesday at DETOUR inside The Cavern also on lower Greenville Ave.  There is a donation to get a ticket, but you get a free CD and OPEN BAR, so how can you go wrong!  The Party is taking place @ Sons Of Herman Hall.
